Tillamook collects information about you in several ways. We collect information directly from you; we collect information about you automatically using Cookies and Similar Technology; and, we collect information about you from others. For example, we collect information directly from you when you:

  • Subscribe to our digital newsletters, use our app to rate our products, engage with us on social media platforms, or submit a customer support ticket.

  • Make a purchase from us, online or at one of our locations, sign up for events or tours at the Tillamook Creamery, or enter a promotion or sweepstakes that we sponsor; or

  • Apply for a job with us, become a food service partner, or work with us in other ways.

We collect information automatically from you using Cookies and Similar Technology when you visit our websites, use our Wi-Fi, download our app, or when you engage with Tillamook’s emails. For example, when you visit our website, we may use this technology to determine the length of your visit or the content you viewed. Or, when you download our app, we may use this technology to determine if you experienced any technical issues. For example, if someone orders you a gift through our website, we collect your information to fulfill the order. We may also make inferences about you.   • Your preferences, interests, and affiliations, including those we may infer based on the Tillamook content you engage with most frequently or the badges you earn using our app. For example, we may infer from the products you rated in our app that you prefer sharper cheeses and recommend bolder cheddars for you to try.

  • Communications, such as the content of a message you send us via email or using social media platforms.

  • Audio, video, and images, including videos taken at the Tillamook Creamery or Market, images you upload to our chatbot, or photos you share with us over email or using social media platforms.

  • Device data, such as information about the device’s operating system or browser, technical attributes, and information about your device’s connection, including your IP address.

  • Internet and electronic network activity, such as:

    • The search terms you use and the queries you perform, including the files, emojis, and GIFs you input into our chatbot.

    • Your digital interactions, including the badges you earn or how you rate our products in our app; and

    • Other information we automatically collect about your interactions when you visit our websites, use our app, or engage with our emails using Cookies and Similar Technology. Such information may include:

      • Unique identifiers, such as device ids, MAC address, or other identifiers used by cookies and similar technology,

      • Date and time of your visit to our website and the duration of your visit, Date and time you installed our app and any errors you encountered,

      • The content you view and your clicks or interactions on our website or app,

      • The website from which you linked to the Tillamook website, and

      • Other similar information about your use of our websites or app or your engagement with our emails.

Tillamook may process de-identified personal information. Information in this form cannot be used to identify, infer details about, or connect to any specific person. We maintain such information in a de-identified state, and unless allowed under applicable law, we will not use de-identified data to re-identify a specific person.

Some of the information we collect, depending on our interactions, may qualify as “sensitive” personal information under data privacy laws, including account authentication information and payment card information. We may collect sensitive demographic information to meet our obligations as an employer or as part of survey if you choose to provide such information.

2. HOW WE USE PERSONAL INFORMATION

We use your information for a variety of purposes, depending on our interactions. Primarily, we use personal information to complete transactions, market our products, operate our websites and app, and operate our various lines of business. We’ve provided the chart below to elaborate on our uses of personal information.

We keep you in the loop on our special releases, discounts, recipes, and more by sending you promotional communications. We use personal information to market and advertise Tillamook’s products to you, sometimes with the help of marketing vendors, agencies, digital advertising platform operators, and analytics providers, as well as to develop and manage marketing campaigns, offline and online. For example, we use personal information to create audiences for ad campaigns, infer your interests and preferences, serve targeted online ads, and analyze our digital interactions to understand the effectiveness of our campaigns. We may gather customer feedback about our products and use insights from the data to develop marketing ideas and understand who buys our products. We may display a photo or recipe you shared with us to help others learn about our products.   • The right to not be subject to certain automated processing. Tillamook does not engage in ‘profiling’ or automated decision making which has legal or significant effects.

  • Right to not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. If you exercise your rights, we will not discriminate against you. You can exercise your rights, as well as make choices about Tillamook’s collection and processing of your information, several ways. For example:

  • Cookie Banner. You can indicate your cookie preferences using the cookie banner on our website.

  • Unsubscribe. Our marketing communications contain information about opting out of future marketing communications. You may opt out of receiving marketing emails from us by clicking on the ‘unsubscribe’ link contained in such emails. Please keep in mind that if you opt out of receiving marketing emails, we may still send you transactional communications. You may opt out of receiving marketing texts from us by texting the word STOP in response to a text message or following other instructions provided to you when you elected to receive texts.   • Tillamook Accounts. Using our apps, or logging into the Online Store, you can request that we deactivate your account. You can also make a request by contacting us here. When you log in, you can also update your information associated with your account.

  • App settings. Using app settings, you can control the collection of your precise geolocation and images captured using your camera. You can also control app notifications by adjusting your device settings, in app choices, or uninstalling our app.

  • Phone/Device Settings. You can use the privacy controls provided on your device, as part of your operating system or available as settings in your browser. For example, you can control access to your precise geolocation data by enabling or disabling location services on your mobile device.

In your request, please specify the rights that you wish to exercise and include your email address. We complete privacy requests on the information linked to your email address and verify your identity by emailing the email address you provide and waiting for your response. In some instances, we may also ask for additional information to verify your identity. If you engage with us without creating an account and signing in, we may be unable to verify your identity or your personal information.

Depending on where you live, you may be able to designate an authorized agent to make a privacy request on your behalf. The agent must submit sufficient materials to validate it is authorized to act on your behalf, and we may contact you to verify your identity and the agent’s authority prior to processing the request.

We will confirm receipt of a privacy request promptly. If we need more information to verify your identity or the authorized representative’s authority to act on your behalf, we will let you know. Please allow us 45 days to respond to your request. If we cannot honor your request for any reason within that 45-day period, we will notify you.

Please note that with regard to all these rights, we reserve the right to: (a) verify your identity in order to process the request, or request further information for this purpose; (b) refuse your request based on the exemptions set out in any applicable data protection laws; and (c) charge you a reasonable administrative fee for any repetitive, manifestly unfounded, or excessive requests. 6. INFORMATION STORAGE AND RETENTION

We use appropriate and reasonable physical, electronic, and administrative measures to protect your personal information against loss and unauthorized access, alteration, and use. Unfortunately, no measures offer absolute protection. As a result, we cannot guarantee the security of your information. We consider the following factors when determining how long we keep and store your information:

  • Retention periods in applicable laws and regulation, and

7. OTHER WEBSITES AND DIGITAL CONTENT

This Policy applies only to the personal information Tillamook processes. Our websites and digital content, such as our emails, could have links to others’ websites and services that are not owned or controlled by us. For example, our websites might enable social media platform sharing features, which let you share data with third parties, your friends, or the public. We are not responsible for and have not reviewed the privacy practices of these other websites and services, though we encourage you to do so.

8. CHILDREN’S DATA

We do not knowingly collect, sell, or share information from children under 16. If you're a parent or guardian and become aware that your child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will delete such information.

9. MODIFICATIONS TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may need to update or revise this Policy from time-to-time to enhance transparency, as well as in response to changing legal, technical, or business developments. We will post any new or revised Policy here, and you should review this Policy regularly to make sure that you are aware of our processing of personal information and your rights.
